Air Conditioning

Replacing or performing a High-Efficiency Tuneup for your Air Conditioning Unit can deliver savings throughout the year.

A traditional home comfort system has two parts: an indoor unit, such as a furnace or air handler, and an outdoor unit. The condenser is the outdoor unit that uses a compressor to pump refrigerant to the indoor evaporator to produce the cooling effect. Indoor and outdoor units are designed to work together. When the air conditioner is properly matched with a furnace or air handler, you get maximum efficiency and longer system life.

While we repair, tune and service all makes and models of Air Conditioning units in San Diego, we proudly provide York and Daikin for new equipment installations.

Depending on the age of your unit, it may be more cost-efficient to replace instead of repair.

Some of the most common AC problems that demand emergency repair include:

•The air conditioner won’t turn on.

•Weird noises or vibrations occur at startup or during operation.

•Warm air exits the supply registers.

•The unit hums, but the fan doesn’t turn on.

•The fan runs, but the compressor isn’t working.

•Water is pooling around the air conditioner.

Reasons the Air Conditioner has Stopped Working Correctly

•No power to the air conditioner: This could be due to faulty wiring, a tripped breaker, or an overheated air conditioner that has shut itself off.

•Worn out fan belt: A squealing sound is good cause for concern, since it could indicate the fan belt is wearing out and is about to snap.

•Refrigerant leak: Hissing is a tell-tale sound the refrigerant is leaking. This decreases efficiency and is bad for the environment and the equipment. Immediately turn off the system! And give us a Call

•Frozen evaporator coil: Continual operation at night, a low refrigerant level, poor circulation and other causes can result in a frozen evaporator coil.

•Defective fan motor: This can prevent air circulation around your home.

•Defective compressor: The fan runs, but the air feels warm because the compressor isn’t working. This is one of the most expensive components of an air conditioner. Speak with your Rain or Shine technician about whether a replacement is more cost effective than air conditioning repair in this instance.

•Clogged condensate drain: Algae, dirt, insects and other debris can clog the condensate drain over time, potentially leading to water damage.
